Sharon’s Profile

Name:  Sharon Jennings

Married:  Yes

Children:  2 daughters, and 1 step daughter

How long have you been practicing Yoga?  Over 10 years

Do you have a professional qualification?  Yes, I hold the British Wheel of Yoga Diploma

What first attracted you to Yoga?

I was in a stressful and demanding job and I was looking for a way that would help me de-stress.  I knew that going to the gym was not for me and I went to a Yoga session not having any preconceptions about it. After the first session I was hooked.

What made you decide to teach Yoga?

I wanted to bring the benefits of Yoga that I had experienced to everyone else.

What is your aim as a Yoga teacher?

I  want to help everyone share in the benefits of Yoga, whether you are a man or a woman, fire-fighter, an office worker or retired.

Anything else you would like to say

It is important to me to ensure that everyone who practices Yoga does it in the correct way for them.

As Yoga is not a replacement for any existing exercise or diet programme you can use Yoga to support any activities you may currently enjoy.  When I started practicing Yoga I played volleyball and I used to cycle and go walking. I found that Yoga helped me with all these activities and I want to help others benefit from Yoga in a similar way. Yoga can also benefit you when practiced in its own right, so you don’t have to already be doing other activities to enjoy the benefits of Yoga.

Yoga is not for everyone, however I do believe that most people can take something from Yoga that will be of benefit to them.  All I can say is give it a try.  Speak to me and I will let you know what aspects might appeal to you most.
